I am so thrilled to be posting for the first time with Creative Carte Blanche! My dear friends,
Linda Ledbetter, Annette Green, Cheryl Grigsby, Hels Sheridan, Candy Colwell and Yvonne Blair, and I got together and discussed creating a new blog adventure which would give us and all of our readers complete creative freedom with our artwork. How awesome is that! The only suggestion we will give you is a prompt with a theme for the month. We will be taking turns posting our work every Tuesday and Friday of the month. This month's theme is Anything Goes, as long as you use a product or technique you have never tried before.
It didn't take me long to jump on this theme as I have quite the stash of paper scraps (too many for sure!) and I wanted to figure out a different way to use them. I summoned my courage and decided that I hadn't done as much with different types of mixed media as I would have liked, so I took out a canvas, those paper scraps, stamps, gesso, paints and matte medium and here is the end result:
For more information as to how this piece was created, please go to my blog at paperskiesandhazeleyes.blogspot.com.
For more inspiration, my fellow Creative Cohorts, Candy Colwell, Annette Green and
Cheryl Grigsby, have all posted their inspirational artwork for this month. They did some fabulous projects I'm sure you will love! Also, be sure to check out the video on our first post which features many wonderful artists sharing their advice on finding inspiration!
Now it's your turn! Challenge yourself to create an art piece using a technique or product you have never used before. Then upload your project here to share with everyone. We can't wait!
Thanks so much for joining us. I hope you will enjoy this creative adventure as much as we are!

ANYTHING GOES - CREATING WITH PAPER SCRAPS
Posted by Susan
I live in beautiful Boulder, CO at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. I have been crafting my entire life; however, it was in 1995 that I found my true passion for paper arts and began teaching at stamp and scrapbook stores shortly thereafter. I have worked for B Line Designs rubber stamps for many years and have participated as a member of the Curiosity Crew for the Compendium of Curiosities Volume III online challenge. I am currently a "Creative Cohort" for the Creative Carte Blanche community and am on several design teams. My work has been featured in various publications including multiple issues of the Stamper's Sampler (Guest Artist Jan/Feb 2010), RubberStampMadness, Crafts 'n Things and in a book by Chris Rankin entitled 50 Nifty Beaded Cards published by Lark Books.
