Anything Goes...Encaustics!

Hi everyone!!!!
I am thrilled to be sharing my first post here at Creative Carte Blanche with you!
This was a fun prompt! One I didn't think would be hard at all, until I sat down and drew a complete and utter blank!  Luckily in the wee hours it came to me and I could hardly wait to get to my desk!
Continuing on with the theme of "anything goes" but try something you've never tried before this was it.  Encaustics! I have always wanted to try it...LOVE the finished pieces I had seen here and there, but was so afraid to actually sit down and try it.
Do you ever feel like that???  But I set the fear aside and just went for it!
I have to tell you I have a new addiction! wink.
This was SO NOT HARD....and if you want to change something all you have to do is heat the beeswax again and move it or add paint or pigments.
I think sometimes we can make things seem much harder then they actually are.
At least I can...my mind starts going every direction until I just stop and create.

Not only did I learn to FREE my mind and embrace the unknown, but I had a blast doing it.
It actually pulled me out of a creative rut I was feeling.
So I implore you...try something new! Silence your mind and let the creativity go.
You might just find your own new addiction! hehehe.

  1. Such a beautiful piece. I think we all need a fear bucket at the studio entrance where it all gets thrown before we enter. I'm off to check out the tutorial. Love It!! Karen.x

  2. Great job, Yvonne. Encaustic wax is really fun to work with. I have made several canvas projects and a couple of just plain cards. We have a lady in our area that specializes in encaustic wax art and her pieces are incredible. I just need to remember her name to share with all of you. My wax is in the freezer until I decide on a new project.
