There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays

Hello everyone, Annette Green here today with my take on this month's creative adventure "Song Lyrics" hosted by the lovely Cheryl Grigsby. As it's the holiday season, there's always Christmas music playing in our house. The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is turn on the Christmas tree, put on the holiday music and enjoy a cup of coffee on the couch. With our daughter Jamie home for the holidays from her first semester away at college, I find that I'm filled with such joy to have her here during this wonderful time of year. Therefore, my song lyrics choice is "There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays."

While I adore the Perry Como version of this song, the one that reminds me of my youth most is by The Carpenters. You can hear it here, if you like. It brings back some great memories when I was around Jamie's age. And it's so true: Nothing beats home sweet home this time of year.

For my project, I created a Victorian-style Christmas house. Who wouldn't love to spend Christmas in a house like this? I sure would. I've got a tutorial with some tips and tricks for taking those amazing Sizzix dwelling dies to create your own unique dream house. Come visit my blog, then join in the fun and create your own "Song Lyrics"-inspired project and upload it here. It's such a great theme this month. Have fun with it!
