Dream Beautiful Dreams!

Hey guys! Linda Ledbetter here, and it's my turn to share a project for Yvonne Blair's fabulous Creative Adventure for August: Sun, Moon and/or Stars

Being an astronomy geek, I was extra excited when I saw this month's theme. And, bonus, it was the perfect opportunity for me to bust out one of my all-time favorite stamp sets and work with some of the pretty blue tones I love. There's a step-by-step tutorial on my blog for this card, if you'd like to see how it came together.

I hope you'll join our Sun, Moon and Stars adventure this month! The challenge can be found on this page, and you can link up your own work of art there.

Have a beauteous day!

Sun, Moon and/or Stars

Boy, was I excited when Yvonne announced this latest Sun, Moon and/or Stars art adventure!  For those of you who have been following me,  you will know that I adore incorporating old photos of my family into my artwork.  I have been waiting for just the right opportunity to use a sweet little photo of my mother as a child and here it is!

I used two of the three elements - the moon and the stars and created a tag with my mother sitting on the crescent moon.  In the original photo she is seated on a bench.  Of course I had to cut her away from the original photo (a copy - don't scream anyone!) and seat her on the crescent moon!  I think she is darling!  All the information as to how I created this art is on my blog here.  Please stop by and check it out!

I hope all of you have been enjoying this latest art adventure!  Everyone has done such a great job with their art pieces!  We have some super talented artists out there!

Don't forget to go to the original Creative Carte Blanche August post and upload your project the link provided.  We love to see all  your work - thanks for sharing it with all of us in our art

Next up is the super talented Hels Sheridan with her take on this theme.  Don't miss it!

The Courage to Imagine...

Hi everyone, it's Annette Green here today with my take on the August theme from Yvonne Blair, "Moon, Sun, and/or Stars." After spending the past week learning new (and revisiting older) Distress techniques, I decided on an art journal page with a colorful, starry sky.

I hope you'll join me on my blog to see how it came together, step by step. I used products I haven't ever tried before, and attempted a few things I wasn't sure would work. I'm sure you can all relate to this. But that's what it's all about. Exploration, experimentation, and taking creative carte blanche!

The main challenge post this month can be found here, where you can upload your creative interpretation of the theme. I hope you plan to play along with us this month. Happy creating!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to Creative Carte Blanche and another month of wonderful art adventures!  It's already AUGUST!  Can you believe that?  This year is flying by!

This month, our creative cohort host is the lovely and multi-talented Yvonne Blair.  Her theme is one of my favorites: "Sun, Moon and Stars."  There are SO MANY things you can do with this idea!

When I saw this art adventure theme, I immediately thought of one of my favorite sentiments, "Love you to the moon and back" and that became the inspiration for this sweet little vintage greeting card.

I would love to share the products I used and a complete pictorial tutorial with you.  Just hop on over to MY BLOG for all of the details.

I hope that you will get inspired by my card and all of the other lovely projects you will be seeing this month from all of the talented gals here at Creative Carte Blanche.  But you need to jump in and join us!

Just create something, anything, using the theme and any products of your choice.  Then share your inspiration and your process with us by posting to our site.  It's amazing how much we can learn from each other!

Have a wonderful week and take some time to play and create!

Blossoms & Bookpages.... Wrapping Up!

Hi again all!  I am here today with the wrap up for our July theme, Blossoms & Bookpages.  Firstly a great big thank you to all who joined in with the theme and to my lovely creative cohorts who have pulled out all the stops and made some amazing art using the blossoms and bookpages prompt.

When I set the theme all those months ago, I had exactly in mind what I wanted to create - which, believe me, is very unusual being as I am usually a "bung it anywhere" kind of gal.  I have an obsession with fuchsias and my collection has been growing nicely over the past few years.  I saw that a new fuchsia had been born, called Thumbelina.  It just so happens that I bought an old copy of Hans Christian Anderson's children's stories a few months ago... so it seemed just right to have the bookpages along with the fuchsias... armed with my Heartfelt Creations die, I did just that and made a piece of wall art for my home.  Please do pop on over to my blog to see more photo's of my art and how I made it.

Thanks again for all your lovely entries... have a great weekend and please do pop back on Tuesday as there is a brand new theme starting for August.
